Who you're dealing with

Filed is operated by Alexander Nordin Davidsson (sole trader), Sweden, reachable at support@filednotes.com.

The service

Filed is a notes app: you write the day's thoughts on one page, an AI librarian files the lasting content into your own markdown vault overnight, and an Ask chat answers questions from your notes with citations. These terms cover your account and the app itself.

Your content

Your notes are yours. You own everything you write. To provide the service, you grant us the limited right to store your notes, index them for search, and send journal text and questions to the AI providers listed in the privacy policy so the librarian can work. That right ends when you delete the content or your account.

The librarian

The librarian is capable but not infallible: it can misfile a thought or get an answer wrong, and it never deletes anything — destructive changes happen only after you confirm them, and everything lands in a 30-day trash. Every answer links its sources so you can check — please do. Filed is not a backup service or a system of record; export anything that matters to you.

Plans and limits

Every account starts with a 7-day free trial of the full service. After the trial, Filed is $9/month (USD), billed monthly through Stripe as a recurring subscription until you cancel. Any applicable tax is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay. Without a subscription your notes stay fully readable, editable, and exportable — only the AI (filing, Ask, dictation) pauses. Paid limits are generous fair-use ceilings for humans; automated bulk access isn't covered by any plan.

Cancelling, withdrawals and refunds

Cancelling: you can cancel the recurring subscription at any time in Settings → Manage billing (or by writing to support). Cancelling stops future charges; the current paid month isn't pro-rated.

EU consumers: if you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you also have the statutory right to withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason, by emailing support@filednotes.com. If you use the paid service during that period, the period you used may be deducted from your refund. If you cancel during the 7-day trial, you are never charged, so there is nothing to refund.

Refunds beyond that: handled case by case — if the service failed you, write to us and we'll make it right.

Fair use

Don't use Filed for anything illegal, to store content you don't have the rights to, or to attack, overload, or reverse-engineer the service. Accounts that do may be suspended.

Closing your account

You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account. Your vault can be exported first as a zip. Deleting the account also cancels the subscription; see above for withdrawals and refunds.

The usual paragraphs

The service is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep your notes safe and the app running, but we can't promise uninterrupted service or perfection. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands. We'll notify you of material changes by email or in the app before they take effect. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights consumers cannot waive. These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden; consumers keep the protections of their country of residence and may rely on them where they live.
